Probably about this time on the 3rd Yamamoto, with a big, massive fleet was still steaming hard toward the West with his plans to capture Midway. And Ray Spruance with a much smaller fleet pretty much knew knew their plans so he was lurking to the North and East. What ensued on the morrow was the Battle of Midway. Bright young men on both sides went out and did incredibly brave things and died. And in the end, with plenty of pluck and a lot of luck the American Navy won a battle that crushed the Japanese Naval Air Force and crippeled their offensive capabilities.
