I know this is not answering your question. I used railroad ties for fence posts and ran heavy fence wire around the inside of the posts so the when the horse leaned on the wire it didn't pull it loose from the posts. Also had to use heavy chain to hold the gate secure. The horse had picked the gate up from the hinge side and walked it around wide open. had to turn the top pivot point/hinge downward. Great fun (not)
