Hi, I"m in the process of rebuilding a 1948 farmall M I just picked up from a guy. He thought it had a busted rod. as it turns out, it has a badly spun rod bearing and the piston in that hole is separated. Anyway this leaves me looking for a replacement crank (i"m told 0.100" wear is too much to rebuild with weld), as well as some other parts. The number on my crank is 45571-DC. I have been told that the last two digits must match and that DC cranks are hard to find. Now finally my questions: 1) does anyone know what the DC stands for, or what is different about them from other M cranks having different suffixes? 2) does anyone know where I might find one in good shape?
