friends; Ya'll need to take those blades off a little more often. I take mine off and sharpen them about every two weeks. My Craftsman mower has the blades with the star shaped center and they can be taken off with a 3/8 ratchet while holding the belt with the other hand.
however I will admit that my previous mower ( made in Lawrenceburg Tnn.) was a little more dificult to remove. but a little Sears impact wrench would take them off with no trouble.
And I might add, mower blades in the USA are made from a mild steel so that they won't shatter and send pieces of metal flying all over, and that is the reason that they need sharpened a little more often.
