Not so much. I've sold several items on Craigslist where the buyers were more than 1000 miles from me. In 2 cases, buyers drove to me to pick up item, 3 sent money orders and I shipped items. I've bought and sold approximately 100 items per Craigslist with not the first scammer. Craigslist gets a bad rap. No MORE scammers than any other type of sales venue. You'll get them occasionally even with a for sale sign on an item setting in your yard. Scammers, thieves, and con artist's are everywhere there's money changing hands.
