Are you trying to hold its height with the 3pt hitch? I'm certainly no expert on bush hogs but the ones I've seen have a tail wheel to set the height with. There should be a way to raise and lower the tail wheel to set the height of the rear of the hog. On level ground adjust the top link so the bush hog is slightly maybe an inch lower in the front when the hydraulics are all the way down and the tail wheel is on the ground. Leave the hydraulics all the way down when mowing.
