Ha ha..no...the "shotgun" pail was about a 12" diameter pail about two feet tall with a metal cap or lid...we used it for carrying cream from the separator to be hung by the bail in the inside the pump house small tank that fed water to the outside livestock drinking tank. A cast iron sash weight on a small rope that ran up to the ceiling and back through a pulley. The rope had a hook that engaged the pail bail and kept the can of cream from tipping over as it floated in the water. That water was the coolest as it came directly from the well. It seldom, if ever, froze in the unheated pump house.
