Congrats, Whizzer! But don't falsely over-value the degree. When the frame plant in Corydon closed in 2005, I got the 2-year [actually 3 semesters + a summer session] educational benefit. Since I'd already been a parts department manager, I went for the AAS degree in Automotive Management...accounting, business law, business management, supervision, and a lot of auto tech courses. Got the degree--in fact, a B in accounting kept me from having a perfect 4.0 GPA. Shortly thereafter, I got hired to be the replacement for a 62-year-old parts manager who was gonna retire in less than a year. Seven months in, I got "laid off"...so they could find a slot for the owner's nephew. KY being an "at-will" state, they can fire you "for cause," or for NO cause, and you're still just as unemployed either way.
Degree PLUS experience is still no match for being related to the owner.
