Mostly family owned dairy farms around here. Pics. show several on the north side of the river, taken from the south side, about a mile across to them. The interstate in the one pic. is I90 that crosses the nation. The lock is part of the NYS Barge Canal System that links the Great Lakes to the Hudson River just north of Albany NY. Behind this lock is a dam and hydro plant that spills of to the north side of the lock and rock formation. by the train tracks. The lake on the other side of the valley is a part of another man made hydro project. The church is the oldest surviving one in the area, built by Sir William Johnson.
