The refresh button - a computer question ???

My computer at home seems to "refresh" itself automatically every time I hook up with an internet connection (I'm on my phone line) and all the forums seem to be done. At work (with a pretty high tech system I would think) I have to manually refresh when I tap into the YT site. Not only that, but when I move to another discussion forum (say from Tractor Talk to Massey Harris) I have to do it again. Somehow, I wouldn't think a guy would have to go through this every time. Any comments on why this is the case? And yes, I know that I shouldn't be doing it at work but don't we all?
