I don't want to ask this on the spanish thread cause it prolly won't be around long.
Sounds like you are or know some Germans that migrated to the States.
Can you tell me why a German that has been living in the States for say 20 years with a house, job/business and paying taxes could not return to the States after leaving (visiting Germany for example)? I've had a couple people over the years tell me that this is the case. Sounded a little fishy but these are productive members of their community.
