After reading on a forum here, it seems that the starter and alternator on some of these old tarctors (mine is one of course) are only listed as assemblies and either bought as such or sent off for rebuilding at very proud prices.
Assuming only the brushes are worn down, is there such thing as "brush stock"? to fabricate a set or is it a possibility (practical) to find a set that is too big and sand/grind them down to size?
If I'd ask a question like that here, I'd get the famous look...
