Over the hill has a different meaning to me and that is that you have lived over half your life expectancy, thus making it all about age.
I have longevity in my maternal and paternal lineage so I figure 50-55 is about right for me for becoming over the hill. My maternal aunt lived to be 105, maternal grandmother 98�, my dad 97 and the list goes on. Even my ancestors of the 1700s and 1800s far outlived the average life expectancy.
With modern medicine and health knowledge I expect my daughter and grandchildren to live to about age 120.
Over the hill---perhaps it is about quality of life and the enjoyment one has. If that is the case I may even live longer as I thoroughly enjoy life.
