If you have an early 1209, it has two single acting hydraulic lift cylinders in the back to raise it up. Later ones had only one lift cylinder and where the second cylinder used to be located there is a simple sleeve and shaft arrangement. There is provision on this piece for a locking pin. The pin goes in a hole and prevents the sleeve from retracting on the inner shaft, thus "locking" the moco in the 'up' position. I do not know if earlier models also had a lock out on the outboard lift cylinder or not, mine is a late model.
