Help!! I also have a JD GT275 which I have starting problems with. It ran well last year but not now. Initially it would start but as soon as I tried to move, it would die. Sometimes I was able to creep slowly forward at low speeds. I suspected a fuel problem so I done the following
1) cleaned out the gas tank (there was some crud in it), 2) new fuel, 3) replaced all the fuel lines, 4) new filter, 5)cleaned out the bowl at the bottom of the carb. & 6) blew out the carb.
While doing this i notice the carb bowl float initally was a little sticky but after a few cycle it seem to move free. The gas shut off solonoid does not retact on its own when power applied , if depressed it does hold the pin down...is this normal. I saw somewhere a person cut the pin off in lieu of replacing it ??? What problems does this cause in doing this??
After putting it all back together it is not running any better... with the throtle full it starts but dies after 10-15 sec Something I can get to run a little longer by reducing the throttle to slow.
ANY Ideas???? I really can't afford to take it to a dealer

He got this wild idea that we should get a convoy of AC tractors and drive them from Charlotte, Michigan 105 miles to LaGrange, Indiana.
