Mike, I've seen this too in the handyman magazines, they usually jump the gun by six or eight years. What I'm anticipating is a 24 volt system, the alternators already in place are up to 130amperes output on ordinary vehicles, up where the police and fire units were just a few years back, the stereo draw alone is requiring the kids to upgrade to a new bigger output alternator. I think its coming just like twelve volts came along in 1954. John
