Convert to 36 volts? Probably not too much more difficult than a 6v to 12V. Limiting factor might be availability of 36v bulbs. As far as burning the place down, I'm still healing from a starter switch short on a 12v system, which could well have burned the tractor down. Even 6v in the proper conditions can cause a lot of trouble, and possible fire.
