When I bought a used JD 4020 years ago it had an OEM ROPS and canopy on it. It was so cold and noisy under there it came off immediately. Then when I put a ROPS on my 2520, I wanted some kind of quiet shade that was easily taken on and off. I made a little frame out of wood, and my wife fitted some yellow duck cloth around the corners. It works perfectly. Cloth comes off in less than a minute. Frame takes a few minutes.
