We just took the winter cab off my TAFE 351DI by removing the top half of the ROPS to which it was welded. My neighbour then made and installed a replacement top section out of scrap he had around his shop.
Peter suggested I build a canopy out of plywood over a metal frame, fastened at the front corners as well as at the ROPS. I have looked at the moulded covers and think a properly-designed frame wouldn't need forward supports.
I'm very well equipped with woodworking equipment, and my neighbour has the time and great welding skills.
Would a plywood canopy do as good a job as the new, moulded ones? or is there a great deal on new or used canopies out there?
