Sandblasting a tractor

I am starting my first tractor resetoration of a Oliver Hart-Parr 70 and I would like to sandblast it before I paint it. My plan is to remove all sheet metal, engine, gas tank and clutch and brake linkage then try to tape up around any shafts then sandblast it. I would then remove the brake covers and transmision cover and clean them out and do any nessesary repairs including installing new seals. My concern is after I sandblast it, should I prime it first to prevent rust from forming on the clean metal? I saw an ad from a company called "The Shop" in some magazines and they have a product called Rust Preventer, would this work as a coating after sandblasting and give me time to work on it before I prime it? My father has restored several tractors and he repairs them first then sandblasts them but it seems that the sand gets into everything and could cause problems. I notice that when I use our Farmall H,that had this done,every time I step on the brakes it makes a nasty grinding noise.
I am open to any suggestions anyone may have. Thanks, Eric.
