What kind of corn was the previous year? If it was triple-stack (roundup ready) then the stalks will have a bamboo quality and will be quite the pain in the backside. I don't know if that stuff would even burn. Lot of guys around here buying that new minimum till tool (forget the name of it) that grinds them up - a very expensive option. We straddled rows last year best that we could, but I wondered if planting beans on a wedge would have worked better. It is now a neigbor's problem as we have hung it up and rented out the ground.
