ok heres the question. neighbor no tills corn and beans with a modifyed jd 7000 planter. set up for ten rows of corn with 9 skip rows between for beans. 19 rows total. (yeah , its a home made farmerized planter). with the heavy trash this year in the corn ground, he is concerned about the planter handling it. adding the yetter residue managers would run close to 6k to do 19 rows. another neighbor thought you could replace one closing wheel with a trash whip on each row. the openers are a standard coulter. any thoughts?? i suggested a south wind and a wooden match to burn the trash off, but thats prolly not the best idea.
