I started my truck the other night (88 F150, 300/4.9 6 cyl.) and the guage never came up for the oil pressure. I shut it off and pulled the dipstick- could tell oil was being splashed around because it was splashed onto the dipstick. Didn't need to use it so I left it sit overnight and looked at it again in the daylight. Again pulled the dipstick and it was at the full level, started it up the guage ever moved but the oil was splashed onto the dipstick again. It also quiets down so I know it's geting oil.
I'm thinking the pressure sensore failed. What I need to know is where it is on the block. It's been not quite a year since I changed the oil because it only gets maybe 3000 miles/year anymore. Might have 1500-2000 miles on the oil right now.
