If you want to compare the two right out of the box the 2255 only had 5 more hp on the pto and 2 more on the drawbar going by tractordata dot com. Now since they stopped making the 5020 the same year that they started the 2255 if you want to compare big guns you should be comparing it to the 6030. On top of the fact that the engine was not made by Cat, Deere didn't have to go to outboard planetary drives, and you do not have to pull the engine to change the starter, why would you want the Oliver? Just checking, owned a few, never want to go back... and I am really bored.
