This video is pretty funny. It an oliver 1755 rowcrop pulling tug-a-war against a john deere 5020 wheatland. We can ALL guess who won, even though i like the olivers better than the john deeres. But anyways I dont know why the kid with the oliver accepted this challenge. I mean, hes got about 5000 pounds less than the 5020 and the 1755 is about 86 hp and the 5020 is well over 100. Im guessing the 1755 had to be turned up. But regardless the 1755 ends up breaking its axel.

If you ask me the guy with the 1755 needs to get a 2255 with a 3208/3150 cat V8 and have a rematch!!

Which part was funny? Was it when some dumb kid who can't drive a tractor broke it?

The two brainless fools in the video MUST be related.

well first i think its funny that some guy would chain up to a tractor that is almost double its size and horsepower. That is asking for trouble. But i think the whole idea of chaining tractors back to back is pretty stupid. Its entertaining but you would NEVER see me do it.

I would have to say I was impressed with the 1755, I thought the 5020 would have just hauled it around like a wagon. If the guy in the Ollie wouldn't have been trying to jerk the 5020 around and actually pull he might not have had that problem. Of course, Oliver tractors were never overbuilt for any abuse.

Kinda funny,as far as I,m concerened these guys can do what ever they want as long as they are picking up the tab for the labor and repairs and it is their equipment....

Might be good the axle broke their and not zipping down the road,,,chain looked pretty strong, but if a hook woulda broke, and nailed one of them,,my ol man woulda cut our nuts off if we did that

maybe I WOULD NEVER do that ..., But as long as they OWN IT ,are fixing it , and are paying the Bills , And apparantly enjoying One Anothers company and are being SUPPORTIVE , I Se NO GREAT HARM ,, NOW ,, compare that to nascar,, with all the sponsers, hi-jinx and mechanics ,.. or the current CONGRESS ....

i bet just about anybody would take an oliver 2255 over a john deere 5020. Those CAT engines could produce a lot of power.

Nope. Had a 3208 in a truck and in a combine. You can keep those wonders. Neither one of them had much of anything for low end torque. If you want to compare the two right out of the box the 2255 only had 5 more hp on the pto and 2 more on the drawbar going by tractordata dot com. Now since they stopped making the 5020 the same year that they started the 2255 if you want to compare big guns you should be comparing it to the 6030. On top of the fact that the engine was not made by Cat, Deere didn't have to go to outboard planetary drives, and you do not have to pull the engine to change the starter, why would you want the Oliver? Just checking, owned a few, never want to go back... and I am really bored.
