Everytime I clean any gas tank I take a coffee can full of gravel, dump it in the tank and shake the crap out of it.
It knocks ALL the scale off the inside of the tank. Then dump the gravel and rince with fresh gas a few times. I have had exalant luck with this. I also add an extra clear in line fuel filter ( this can be removed and replaced as you see fit )
give it a try, It works wounders.
