I live in the Fraser Valley in British Coumiba, Canada. We have fairly mild winters, but no where as warm as Florida. I built a small shop, 500 square feet, and used radient floor heating. The walls are 2X6 with maximum insulation everywhere I could put it. The system runs off a 40 gallon water heater that supplies hot water to a laundry room and bath, also. If I was going to build a new shop, (and I plan on it), I am going to use geothermal with a radient heat system. Like the other post below lists, waste oil is cheap for now, but I can see it has too many negative aspects about it as well as wood fire.
