There's absolutely no way I will ever fly on Delta again.
My wife and I once had a one hour layover in Cincinatti turn into a 25 hour layover. We were lied to repeatedly, put up overnight in a fleabag motel with no heat, (this was at Thanksgiving), when the flight we were supposed to leave on fell apart, we were told there was no other way we could get to Omaha until the same flight the next evening. At one point, I overheard the crew of the plane we were supposed to have left Cincinatti on joking and laughing about how mad the passengers were going to be when they found out the flight wouldn't leave.
A lady in a wheelchair was simply abandoned at the boarding gate by Delta personnel.
Then, when we finally did get to Omaha, our luggage had beat us there. How? I've been around aviaton most of my adult life. The truth I can handle. I will not tolerate being lied to.
I could go on and on. This is only part of the ordeal. When we finally got home, I wrote a three page letter describing the debacle and sent copies to Delta, to the Cincinatti Airport Authority, the Cincinatti newspapers, and the Cincinatti Chamber of Commerce.
My wife and I were ultimately each given a voucher for $100 to be applied to a future flight within a year. Big deal. The vouchers had to be presented at a Delta ticket counter to be redeemed. I can go online and get a better price on tickets than Delta's counter price minus $100.
Didn't mean to get so wordy, but it's been five years and I still come unglued when I think about how we were mistreated by Delta.
