here is what we do at the body shop where i work, we put about 6 drops of dish soap in a quart mixing cup with lukewarm water. we wet the painted surface, peel the backing from the decal wet it also apply it where we want it nad gently run a squeegy over the decal to push the water from under it. 3-m makes a special squeegy for this but we normally use a new bondo spreader .be careful or you will scratch the new decal with the spreader. this is really easy to put them on this way.
