I have a small farm so I am able to be well away from the road or any surprise disturbance. I have restored several tractors over the years and I have only painted 1 of them inside. I had the same problem and I much prefer to paint on a trimmed grass area, on a calm day, outside in the spring before the bug season starts or late fall after the bugs are gone. I had no problem with dust and it is much easier to see your work as there are no shadows. Sounds dangerous but I prefer it. Unless you do what some of the other fellows suggest by improvising a spray booth your spray gun will cause enough air disturbance to float dust from somewhere and if your working in a confined space like that I don't know how you would breath.

I'm curious how many others have tried it outside.
