The claims for hemp are just too grand for me to take it seriously. We are told it has no disease problems, no weed pressures, and needs no fertilizer..... Come on. Same can be said for soybeans - before they were grown all over. Then the disease builds up in the soil, the weed patterns adapt to the new crop, and if you are taking off that much biomass in fiber & oil, of COURSE it needs replacement fertilizer! Even soybeans with their N-fixing still needs P & K. So, what is the reason for hemp to be promoted so much????? And who is doing the wide-eyed promoting? People like Woody Harlson? Yea, ok.... If people really want to get serious about industrial hemp, as opposed to the smoking kind, they need to do a lot better, & more honest, promotion of it. Just can't take the current folks seriously. Seems they are blowing too much 'smoke.' :) --->Paul
