my view is first you have to get the job, you have to show the company you have a skill or a reason to hire you, they can pick up "goober" anywhere, IF you get the job, then you can show the company what you can do, most bosses, upon seeing a stand out new hire are smart enough to boost the pay some to keep the new hire, ive been on both sides of the interview, looking for a job, and looking to hire an employee, any job beats welfare in my book
