check engine light came on in my 98 jeep shortly after I bought it, didn't feel like messin with it yet so took it to goodyear, they scanned it and told me it needed fuel injection system cleaned. Did that and that did not fix it. took it back and said it was the oxygen sensor, replaced that, did not fix it. finally they tell me its the fuel pump and had them replace that. fixed it for a week till it started starting hard, took it back and turns out the aftermarket (chinese) fuel pump they put in melted the pressure regulator (mounted on top of pump). Eventually got a oem one put in.
