not familiar with your particular tractor but according to the tune up specs on this site, the timing mark is on the flywheel an is set at 5 btdc. i am assuming that is static timing. check your advance on the distributor and see if it is working. give the rotor a gentle twist and see if it snaps back. if not the weights could be rusted or stuck. if the advance doent work, and it runs retarded,the exhaust manifold will get real hot and the engine will lack power. my minnie moline did that, took a little looking before finally found the problem
