Not always. A little less cranking amps in the same size battery will have thicker plates and handle vibration better. I have an 8D battery in my Cat with 1250 cca. I could have got a 1400 cca but the guy at the battery specialty place said the 1250 is a heavier duty battery and will last longer. I should add that an 8D is a huge battery for a 65 HP engine. Dave
