To remove an insert that uses hardened pegs to lock it in,use a small flat point nail to knock the pegs out from the bottom, then use a easyout or bolt to screw it on through or back out, whichever is easiest. The best insert I found during 37 yrs. of toolmaking is Helicoil brand, a kit comes complete with special drill bit, tap and inserts. The inserts(resembles threads without the bolt) are back to back threads, so after threading in the insert the inside of the same threads are what the sparkplug will screw into. To remove these just use a scretch awl to get under the end thread, grab it with a chain nose plier and screw it out.Do all this with the head removed. The inventor was a genius! Thats my idea.
