we have 4 tractors for our hay operation, a jd 2840 to feed cows, a ih 5088 for tillage ,21 foot tandem, 25 foot field cultivator. the 5088 is the only tractor we have for plowing. ih 886 with 2355 ih loader, we remove the loader and plant with the 886,amd a 504 for misc. chore work(really too small for anything serious), we do 120 acres of sudan and 120 acres of native grass. my partner and i both work full time jobs so time is in short supply we are going to add a 130-150 hp tractor probally a 4450 or ih 88 series to help with the tillage.and the 5088 will get some wide single tires so we dont have to struggle with duals, and remove them to bale hay. we also plan to add a 806 propane or simular cheap tractor to load hay, at distant fields.
