I had instrument cluster renewed in 2004 on a 2003 K2500HD.
The new cluster had to be reprogramed several times for clitches that surfaced to conform to that specific model truck.
I.E. clitches like odometer running 10% fast (tires, gear ratio, etc), trip mileage returning to zero everytime key was turned off, high beam indicator light way too bright had to be dimmed down (separated program, takes minutes to run) and othe minor clitches. Check every function of your new cluster, there are programs available from the factory via a dealer to restore all the original functions.
