John Deere has absorbed numerous companies throughout their history, that's how they expanded their line. They actually got into the tractor business by buying the Waterloo Gas Engine Co. So, I don't see it as big news, one way or the other. Last time I looked Deere was a business, and the purpose of a business is to make money, which enables them to pay employees, stockholders, etc. You can like mergers & acquisitions or not, but it's the American way, always has been. You say you're not trying to prove anything, but then criticize the "almighty dollar". There's really no other reason for a corporation to exist. If they don't make noney, they die. JMHO, Ron.
