Geez Tyler(WA)!! you sound a little bitter at other people that make more money than you!! I didn't realize you were a "real farmer"! here is what I know. I'm a blue collar worker have only six acres but the old 841D comes in handy keeping the corall area clean and fertalizing the pasture now and then. I work a lot of O.T. so the faster I can get that done the more I can play with my three kids. The so called terrible Yuppies down the road also enjoy there small acerage, have horses and are fun to ride with and are short on time too. They make probably 100'000$ more than me but hey he enjoys the history of our farming past also. So he could afford a kubota but chose an older cooler massey 135. Lots of people are buying small acerage (shoot not many can afford large)so the small tractors are in demand. call a dealership and ask them for this,30 to 40 HP,live pto,3point and powersteering with a loader for under 5,000 he'll just say yah thats what every one wants! So get to know your "yuppie" neighbors not all of them are bad and geuss what you'll need one eventually at some point in your life!
aka. doctors, lawyers and such. Happy tractoring WRP

Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point ... [Read Article]
