I sell stuff on ebay from northern Michigan and I ALWAYS get hosed on shipping! No matter what shipping service or charts I consult, it is always higher when I get it to the shippers dock. I've taken to doubling the weight, adding half again to the dimensions and calculating to those inflated measurements- and I STILL loose money on shipping more often than not. Of course, on the rare occasions that I manage to game the system and end up actually overcharging someone, I issue a refund. I don't know what it is, but you are right- shipping is high here (just to be safe, I'd make sure he is loading you up with bogus "handlin' fees and such rot- some folks make alot of their money that way as well....)
