OT shipping Muzzleloader

For you guys in Michigan. Why are shipping charges so high? I found a sidelock for sale & he said the last time he was quoted $65.00 to ship. That doesn't sound right does it? That would be to central Mn.

I sell stuff on ebay from northern Michigan and I ALWAYS get hosed on shipping! No matter what shipping service or charts I consult, it is always higher when I get it to the shippers dock. I've taken to doubling the weight, adding half again to the dimensions and calculating to those inflated measurements- and I STILL loose money on shipping more often than not. Of course, on the rare occasions that I manage to game the system and end up actually overcharging someone, I issue a refund.
I don't know what it is, but you are right- shipping is high here (just to be safe, I'd make sure he is loading you up with bogus "handlin' fees and such rot- some folks make alot of their money that way as well....)

I don't understand your question. I've mailed long guns from Michigan to the east and west coast and the cost is usually $15. to $30.

He is at Sterling Heights. He said I should send a prepaid container to ship it. I haven't checked on the cost of that. Never heard of it before.
