I run a 75" blower on a 40+ HP tractor with live PTO in Western New York. The local airport says we have had about 153" of snow this season. My only reverse gear is almost 3 MPH at PTO speed. If the snow is deep and/or heavy then I have to stop the tractor and let the blower clear periodically. Your reverse gear might be slow enough that this will not be a problem for you, but I strongly recommend the live PTO. The distance that the snow blows depends on the depth and weight of the snow, as well as how fast snow is entering the blower (too fast or too slow won't throw it properly, but too slow is better). It is important not to let the snow sit too long before you try to blow it out. After Lake Erie freezes over in late January our snow accumulation slows down a lot. I usually take off the blower and put on a blade at that point, unless a major storm is predicted, because it is not very practical to try to blow 2" of snow on a gravel drive. And the blower doesn't work well on slush, either. I hope this helps.
