Long was identical to Leyland, in the same way John Deere is identical to Oliver: They were the same color. Leyland is British, Long is anything but.
I'm not sure about the Zetor tie-in- I was under the impression that early longs were made in Romania, and their successor is now something called a Universal. Later ones were rebadged Fiats. But I could be wrong- have been before, to hear the wife tell it.
Quite a few Longs sold around here in the '70's- many still pluggin' along. Like the SAME and Fiat, were looked down upon by the folks, but turned out to be pretty tough rigs.
