Perkins are good engines but they don't have the internal structure of a lot of their competitors either. I'll never forget the stack of Perkins rods I saw in a junk heap about a year ago... all from a 100 series Massey, all bent just below the wrist pin. Probably all from ether... It just struck me at the time that any Ford, Deere, IH, or Cat rod I'd ever seen had about twice the weight and cross section to it. Perkins used 'just enough' for normal conditions. Probably one reason why so many Ford's and IH's will take such a big twist of the torque screw and still live....
I'm gonna leave you alone with your Bel-A-Rus tho. I'd take 10 Browns over once of those leaking red pigs. Had one. Sold one. Never again.
