The Allison goes behind either the gas or diesel. As for gas vs. diesel durability? This is the 2000's not the 1970's-1980's. Back then diesels were good for 300,000miles, gassers barely it to 100,000miles trailing smoke. Today any old gasser in any vehicle with 300,000miles doesn't bat an eye. 300,000 miles with a high pressure common rail diesel is a long time past factory warranty. Today the gassers are the simple reliable engine. There isn't anybody here that will wear out a gas or diesel engine before the body is rusted off the frame.
