: Thanks to the Bonehead. On the tractor, if there are any wires that are not in the best of shape they could have enough resistance to stop things until they cool enough to flow full power. Have you tried Rossow or Llamas?
IF YOU STILL ARE USING 6VOLTS(GREAT NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT) SINCE THE STARTER DOESNT WANT TO SPIN TRY THIS NEXT TIME,TRY TO CRANK IT OR HAVE A FRIEND DO THAT HOLD THE CABLE FROM THE STARTER TO THE SOLENOID DOES IT GET STIFF? OR HOT? EITHER WHY SOMEONE MIGHT NAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY CABLES WITH 12 VOLT BATTERY CABLES THEY WELL NOT CARRY THE AMPERAGE NEEDED TO START YOUR TRACTOR SIX VOLT CABLES ARE THICKER TO CARRY MORE AMPS THEN 12 VOLT IT CAN MAKE BIG DIFFERENCE.ALSO MAKE SURE THE CONNECTIONS AREALL TIGHT
