If that GM (government motors) van is getting say 11.1 mpg, he would have had to buy 16,666 gal of gas based on 185k. that would mean he paid on average $1.20 per gal Use a figure like $3.00 per gal. To get to his figure of 20k in fuel cost, he would have to average 27.75 mpg
