They were "smart" for a while, depends on what you call smart. Today, many golf courses are not paying their bills, not buying or leasing new stuff, just trying to limp along with what they have on site to keep the coarses up. Same true with landscapers. These two markets are good when the eonomy is good, but some of the first things to go when things turn bad like they did back in September. Smart in my mind is long term plans, not short term. These have proven to be very short term and short sited.
