I really do not care if you believe in golbal warming or not BUT since you guys have been talking global warming all day I have a serious science question on the subject.
It is said that global warming will melt all the ice caps in the world raising sea levels and flooding many coastal cities.
Since ice is less dense (floats) than water; and water EXPANDS when frozen into ice.......
How are sea levels going to rise when all the ice melts back into water???????????
I might be a dumb hillbilly but it sure seems sea levels will fall if there was no ice in the oceans. I guess if you figure in melting snow pack from the land mass then this water running into the sea could raise levels; but floating ice should take up less space if it was water.
